Format

Each kit is presented as a 96-well plate with one SmartBead (formulated with ~3,000 UltraCodes of three types) in each well. All buffers and detection reagents are provided. Each kit is suitable for determination of 80 samples in singlicate, together with standard curves for the quantitation of anti-TPO and anti-TG antibodies plus kit positive and negative control sera.

Antigens

The kit uses native human thyroglobulin (TG), purified from thyroid gland. The thyroid peroxidase (TPO) is purified from a eukaryotic recombinant expression system. The assay also includes control Qmax zero microparticles.

Summary of Procedure

Diluted serum, from primary tubes, is added to the 96-well plate by the SmartStation robot. All washes and addition of detection reagent is performed automatically. The plate is then transferred to the SmartReader and results are exported to the LIMS system for reporting.

Clinical Data

The UltraPlex Thyroid assay has been tested side-by-side with two market-leading ELISA assays for anti-TPO antibodies and one leading ELISA assay for anti-TG antibodies. More than 400 samples have been compared in an independent laboratory, and UltraPlex Thyroid yields comparable performance to the competitor products.
