UltraPlex Autoimmune :

UltraPlex Coeliac

A 6-plex assay for two common autoantibodies associated with coeliac disease, combining separate semi-quantitative assays for IgA and total Ig against each of tTG and gliadin with a total IgA assay to exclude IgA deficiency.

Measuring IgA and total Ig against gliadin and tTG improves the sensitivity of detection of Coeliac disease, although it is difficult to justify a 4-fold increase in labour and reagent costs for the small gain in sensitivity when using conventional assays. With digital multiplexing you get all the data you need, at the same cost as an anti-tTG screening ELISA - and in the same time.

The inclusion of the Qmax zero microparticles, with no antigen coated, also eliminates rare false positives seen with conventional ELISAs, due to high levels of non-specific antibodies in some patient samples.

And the inclusion of a total IgA assay in the same well is an added bonus - completing the clinical dataset needed to for optimum diagnosis of Coeliac disease from a single test.
